The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions to the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering expert services for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency mentioned it is alarmed about the significant quantity of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a superior number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This can be due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully functional office dedicated to service the area daily. The services level designed for intervention encounters a higher influx of probable beneficiaries, which makes it challenging for the office to attend to all people who visit a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional sources to help the status sassa servicing of all consumers and increase use of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
